Class Rules and Policies

 Hello! Welcome to my class😀 

My name is Ms. Burwell and I am from Salt Lake City, Utah born and raised.  I am so excited to be teaching your kids this year! Teaching has always been something I have enjoyed so I am excited to start teaching this class. We have some class rules and policies I would like to go over.

Class Rules

1. Be on time! (You don't want to miss anything fun)
2. Be Respectful to other students, in other words, follow the Golden Rule. (Treat others the way you want to be treated)
3. Don't interrupt, raise your hand, and wait to be called on to answer the question.
4. Turn in your work on time.

Class Policies

1.  Attendance and Tardies- You should try your absolute best to be present and on time, but when a situation occurs that prevents your student from being there, please let me know. I understand that life isn't perfect so if there is a problem write me a note or send me a quick message:) If a student is sick then they will be asked for a note from their parent or doctor.
2. Assignments and Late Work- Assignments should be turned in on their due date. If you or the students have any questions or concerns about the assignment, feel free to contact me. I am here to help and love to do it! Late work will only be accepted for legitimate reasons that will be decided when the time arises.
3. Assessments and Tests- The student will be given assessments at the end of each quarter to see how they are doing and what they still need to improve on. There will be a test at the end of the school year to show what they learned.
4. Bad Behaviour- If a student shows bad behaviour they will be issued a warning. If they do not fix their behaviour after the warning then they will be asked to pull a green card, then a yellow card, lastly a red card. If the student continues to behave badly, I will write a note to their parents explaining the situation so we can get it all sorted out.

Green card- Warning

Yellow Card- 10-minute recess detention

Red Card- No recess
